he White Swan was first described by the German naturalist Johann Friedrich Gmelin, in 1789. As an adult, the white swan is on average between 125 to 170 cm in height and has a long extension of wings which can vary from 200 to 240 cm. These animals sleep on the ground or in trees up to 1.2m in height. Males are larger than females.
The White Swan is one of the heaviest flying birds, males having an average weight of about 12 kg and the females of about 8kg. Young birds are not white and shiny like the adults and their beaks are black instead of orange. The color of their stripe goes from pure white to alight yellow or gray.
The nests are reused from year to year, repairing and rebuilding when necessary. The nest is cared by both the male and female.
The cygnets are born white brown and stroll on their parents' backs when they are small. They start flying at six months of age and become adults at two years old. Both genders have the same appearance, between1.2 and 1.4 meters in length, males (6.3 to 8.7 kg) are slightly larger than females (5.1 kg), the wings with extension from 1.6 to 2 meters. There is a difference in tail length between male and female, with the male's tail being longer.
