he Venerated or Reeves's Pheasant is endemic to China. This pheasant is mentioned at Guinness World Records 2008 for having the largest natural tail feather. As a rule, they are relatively aggressive animals and should not be combined with pheasants of other varieties. The adult plumage is reached by the year of age.

Male: Is a majestic bird with brilliant white gold plumage and red body plumage, gray legs, brown iris and red skin around the eyes. The head is white with a narrow black band across the eyes. The male has an extremely long silver tail streaked with brown. This pheasant’s dimensions require a large area to be able to display and maintain its long tail. This can measure up to 2.4 meters long.

Female: Is a brown bird with a blackish crown, yellow and brown face with gray feathers on the tail.

The male is approximately 210 cm long and the female 75cm long, the males weighing around 1.53 kg and the females 0.95 kg.

Reproduction: the laying of these birds ranges from 4 to 10 eggs in the wild and from 20 to 25eggs in captivity, being incubated for a period of 25 days.
