SF was one of the first regional producers of Île de France and contributed to its dissipation throughout the Iberian Peninsula. These sheep emerged in the 19th century, arising from the crossing of the Dishley breed with the Rambouillet. This is a breed specialized in meat production, with very good quality wool. It was baptized in the XX century with the name of its manor, which was around the region of Paris - Île de France.
These animals are very well adapted to different types of ‘management’ and climate. The females reproduce throughout the year and have a prolificacy in the order of 170%, producing very early lambs with high average of daily gains. Lambs often exceed a growth of 500g /day and have excellent conformation and carcass quality.
The live weight of adult males is always over 100kg and can even exceed 200kg. In females the weights can also exceed 100kg and reach 130kg.
